A Dundrum-based streetwear fashion label, set up by an engineer and an artist, has taken the top prize at the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Awards for 2010 held on Tuesday evening, September 14th.
 

The independent menswear brand, Counter Propaganda, was amongst seven shortlisted businesses in the annual County finals. The business will now represent the county at the National Enterprise Awards to be help in the Shelbourne Hotel this November.
 

Co-founders, Richard Doody and Fergal Swann, design and dsitribute men's casual-wear for retailers in Ireland, the UK, Romania and Japan. The company also operates their own retail outlets in Liffey Valley and Blanchardstown shopping centres.

"Counter Propaganda are successfully growing their fashion label business, both nationally and internationally, despite difficult trading conditions in retail." said Michael Johnson, CEO of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board. "They've managed to extend their menswear range, increase the number of the internatioanal stockists and open up new retail outlets in Ireland within the last twelve months alone," he added.
 

An Cathaoirleach, Cllr Lettie McCarthy, was guest of honour at the awards which took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Stillorgan.

Each year, the County & City Enterprise Board across Ireland stage the National Enterprise Awards competition to recognise the entrepreneurial talent of micro-enteprise owners.
