Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown (DLR) Trust Fund - Helping New Businesses Get Off the Ground!

What is the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Trust Fund?

The Trust Fund is a charitable body which makes loans available to individuals or groups  of individuals who wish to launch a new business but have had difficulty in accessing start-up finance from banks or government agencies.

The Trust Fund is specifically targeted at those people who are experiencing some form of disadvantage or a particular challenge. This might include, for example, a person with a disability, a member of a minority ethnic group or someone who has been unemployed for a period of time.

No security is required. The funds can be used towards any legitimate business expense, including working capital (the general cash rquired to operate your business especially in the first few months).

The Future of the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Trust Fund

The Trust has been funded since its inception by DLRCEB, the Social Finance Foundation, philanthropic donations and a legacy from a local Community Group. All funds donated have now been lent on to individuals and the repayments process is underway.

However, the repayments streams will take some time to provide for a recycling to new applicants and the demand for loans continues grow. The Trust Fund Board are therefore now launching a Campaign to raise additional funds in order to ensure the long term sustainability of the Trust and to be able to extend support to projects which may be deemed as a higher risk and therefore in even more need for support. We are looking for support from companies and individuals in the area to partner with us on this journey to ensure the continued viability and growth of the Trust Fund.
