Grants of €975 on offer to part-fund cost of professionally translating your website into 5 languages (Spanish, French, Polish, Chinese & Russian)!

The Office of the Minister for Integration, in conjunction with the Social Inclusion Unit of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, is making available grant funding to enable qualifying organisations** in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County to translate their web site into five languages. The scheme is being administered by DLRCEB. Funding is limited.

Aim of the Web Translation Grant Scheme

The grant is designed to assist organistions and businesses in helping local residents, whose first language is not English, to access services from their website.
 

How the Web Translation Grant Works

Each approved Grant covers 75% of the cost of translating a maximum of 1,500 words of English text into the following five languages:- Polish, French, Chinese, Spanish and Russian. Successful applicants will be approved to incur web translation services worth a fixed value of €1,300. The work must be undertaken by a supplier appointed by DLRCEB. Each grant will cover €975 of this translation fee with  the balance of €325 being met by the approved business.
 

Terms & Conditions (Selected)

** This Call for applications is open to publicly-funded organisations and private sector micro-enterprises (max 10, employees) based in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County.
 

- Applications must be made prior to any expenditure being incurred. Proof of payment in the form of original receipt(s) is required prior to drawdown.

 - Eligible Costs are restricted to the translation of English web site text into each of the following 5 languages:- Polish, French, Chinese, Spanish and Russian.
 

- The approval of applications and the payment of all monies is dependent on the availability of resouces under this scheme from the Social Inclusion Unit of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
 

- To enable DLRCEB to issue grant payment (by cheque only), each approved business must submit original receipt(s) for the completed web translation activties by Thursday, 30th September 2010 at the latest.
 

- DLRCEB may consult other agencies/local development programmes in relation to this proposal while respecting project confidentiality. This is a competitive application process. Funding is limited.
 

Application Process Timeline - Important

  1. The Web Translation Fund is available from Monday, May 17th 2010.
     
  2. Launch Event & Information Briefing takes place on Thursday, June 3rd 2010.
     
  3. The application deadline is 5pm on Friday, June 11th 2010. Any applications received after this time will NOT be considered.
     

  4. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application within 2 Weeks of the Fund Closing for Applications.
     
  5. Successful applicants must be in a position to drawdown down any approved amounts by Thursday, September 30th 2010 at the latest. All offers will expire after this date.
