Vanessa & Tim are owners of Cooks Academy, Dublin’s Premier Business School. They run a range of tailored
cookery classes from customised premises on Dun Laoghaire’s sea front. Their customers include both individuals
and corporate groups and they recently introduced full-time accredited coursers.

 

Innovation Award - Conor Molloy, Authentic Solutions (www.authentic.ie)

Conor is owner/manager of Authentic Solutions, a Killiney-based business specialising in the provision of fuel efficiency services to SMEs. His flagship service, ECOFleet, offers fuel efficiency improvements to companies with commercial vehicle fleets. ECO stands for Energy Efficient, Continuous Improvement & Objective Measurement. 

 

Most Promising Start-Up Award - Fiona Looney, 4men.ie (www.4men.ie)

4men.ie is an online destination for men who are interested in their appearance. 4men.ie sells male grooming products from many of the world’s leading suppliers. Shaving and Skincare brands can be purchased at affordable prices with free delivery. 

 

Female Entrepreneur Award - Darina Loakman, (www.iamawahm.com)

Darina runs an information service & online community for women who work from home or who wish to work from home. Her business provides resources, tools and earning opportunities for this target market. It is the only website in Ireland and UK dedicated to Work at Home mothers.

 

Business Growth Award - Dualta Moore, Software Asset Management Ireland Ltd, www.sami.ie

Dualta’s business sells software solutions to the Irish education sector. Based in Dun Laoghaire, SAMI works to meet the software needs of primary, secondary and third level institutions. It is now the largest authorized Educational Reseller for Microsoft in Ireland. The business is currently developing its own software with an eye on export markets.

Jo Maes & Denise Gallagher, GEMC Ireland - (www.irishgolfcommunity.ie)

Jo and Denise have established Irishgolfcommunity.ie to promote golf and tourism in Ireland to domestic and overseas markets. The promoters bring to their business valuable experience and contacts from the golf, hospitality and media sectors.


Loretta Yurick -  Dance Theatre of Ireland (www.dancetheatreireland.com)

Dance of Theatre of Ireland operates a purpose-built centre for Dance in Dun Laoghaire, offering daily recreational dance classes to over 3,000 people each year. The company is also a professional performing dance company which tours nationally and internationally and conducts Ireland’s largest Dance outreach program to schools, colleges and companies. 

 

Richard Doody & Fergal Swann - Propaganda Dublin (www.propagandadublin.com)

Propaganda Dublin is a fashion label which designs and manufactures a range of urban street wear clothing for men in the 15-35 age category. Richard and Fergal sell their range through markets, small boutiques and via their web site.

All of the finalists have received Board support in the form of funding, training, networking or one-to-one mentoring
